2019 John Lucas Camp Right Way Houston

This years’ Camp Right Way Houston was a very balanced camp with some very talented players. I was very encouraged to see players locked in and wanting to improve and compete. The tone was set at the start with the high level of competition in the 3v3 tournament and as camp continued into the development phase it was great to see their progress. On day two of camp, players really bought in to the team concept that we challenged them to play with and camp ended on a very strong note. These are some of the players that stood out this weekend.

2024

Zion Pipken      Houston,TX      6’0

Really dominated camp with not only his strong physical body attacking the paint, but also shot the three well. It was great to see the growth in his IQ and unselfishness; he was very consistent with making plays for his teammates along with creating for himself.

Liam McNeeley     Richardson, TX      6’5

Very nice to see his growth not only in growing 2inch since I last saw him, but the confidence and aggression he played with. He is extremely versatile on both ends of the floor and showed he can dominate a game on both ends. He is on track to be a very high-level prospect.

Annor Boateng      Little Rock, AR      6’4

High level athlete that played with a good motor. Versatile as a defender on ball and contesting shots. Rebounds the ball well and has a strong enough handle to push on the break and make plays. If he continues to expand his skill set, he is on pace to be an elite prospect.

Dylan Warlick      Edmond, OK     6’3″

One of the most consistently dominate players from start to finish of camp. Really strong aggressive forward that has a great skillset and IQ.         Did everything he wanted all weekend.

Montana Wheeler     Houton,TX     5’6

A strong fast aggressive pg that plays with fire and a chip on his shoulder. No one all camp could prevent him from making plays in the paint. He played with equal fire in his on-ball defense. I see a lot of the same tools in him as his older brother.

Justin Begg     Houston,TX     5’3

Highly skilled a crafty pg that plays with great pace and rhythm. Shot the ball very well this weekend and kept his teammates involved. Showed he is clearly one of the top pg’s in his class for this region.

Maverick Binder     Table Rock, NE     5’11

His game continues to grow every year. Elite level shooter. Plays aggressive with a high IQ and consistently made plays. I liked his improved defensive anticipation and aggression.

Cade Courbat     Cedar Falls, IA     6’4″

Nice length for his position and is showing good energy and decision making on offense. Runs the floor well and finishes well with contact. His high motor makes him very effective rebounding and rim protecting on defense.

Neffie Taiwo     Houston, TX     6’5″

Long athletic forward that seems to take pride in his rebounding and rim protection. He has added nice footwork and improved as a finisher around the rim.

He is a long guard that plays with a very crafty handle and really shoots the ball at a high level. He is on pace to be a very promising prospect.

Mr. Perkins my son was #27 Reese Martin he played on team #5. I was wondering if you could send me a email with his player evaluation. We felt he was one of the stronger campers but from the list of highlighted players you guys didnt think so. We are a bit confused bc the feedback he received from his coach was super positive.

Hello Mrs. Martin. The fact that your son wasn’t mentioned in the write-up does not mean he didn’t do very well. The write-up was simply the players i had the opportunity to see. Please do not feel your child didn’t perform well based on my write up.
